Vancouver housing has its own quirks. A Vancouver Special from the sixties or seventies has its kitchen on the upper floor, and it was never meant to be open plan. Pre-war character homes in Kits and Mount Pleasant have walls that are rarely square and floors that are rarely level, so cabinets have to be scribed to fit rather than pushed against the wall. Condos come with strata rules, work-hour limits and elevator bookings. We have built in all of them and plan around each one.

How a Vancouver Project Runs

1. Free in-home consultation. We come to your Vancouver home, measure the space and talk through what you want.

2. Quotation, then design. You get a quotation first. Then we move to the design phase: drawings and 3D renderings are provided, layout, materials and finishes are finalized, and the quotation is adjusted until you are satisfied. Some layout changes need a City of Vancouver permit. We tell you at the design stage so the approval time goes into the schedule.

3. Build. Your cabinetry is made in our Burnaby shop while the site work goes ahead, so the two do not wait on each other.

4. Install. Our own crew fits it. The people who built the cabinets are the people standing in your kitchen.

Most kitchens take 4 to 8 weeks of construction and most bathrooms 3 to 6 weeks. Refacing is usually a matter of days. Our shop in Burnaby is a short drive from anywhere in Vancouver, so site visits and adjustments are quick. Yes. We check the strata bylaws for work hours and noise, book the elevator and protect the corridors. Most of the cabinetry is built in our shop before we arrive, so the time on site is shorter than in a house.

Yes. Three of our recent bathrooms are in Vancouver, including a walk-in shower in Killarney with hexagon-tiled niches. Vanities are built in our shop to the exact wall dimension, and we do the tile, waterproofing, plumbing fixtures and glass. Most Vancouver bathrooms take three to six weeks.
